Our sewing schedule is published below. We meet at Schoolhouse Quilts, 399 Memorial Rd, Forest City, NC 28043 from 1:00 noon – 4:00 p.m. Bring your sewing machine and we will provide you with fabric and design or a kit to make a patriotic quilt to be presented to a deserving veteran. If you do not sew, then come help us by ironing,
folding and organizing fabric, cutting strings or take out sewing mistakes. You will enjoy spending the afternoon with us!

The purposes of the Group are:
(a) To bring together people with a similar purpose to share knowledge, ideas and to learn more about the art of quilting.
(b) To make and award quilts to veterans of the United States armed services that have served in a combat situation to honor them for their sacrifice and service.
(c) To preserve, perpetuate, encourage, and advance the art of quilting for our members and the general public.
(d) To provide an opportunity for members to gather, learn, teach, and exchange ideas and information in order to encourage individualism and a high standard of design and technique.
Veterans Treatment Court Graduation Ceremoy held on September 24, 2021.
U. S. Marine Jon Rowell receiving his Welcome Home Quilt.
The five graduates were Travis Konig, U. S. Marines, Daniel Conway, U. S. Marines, Heath Coward, U. S. Marines, Jon Rowell, U. S. Marines and Chase Parks, U. S. Air Force.
We are a totally volunteer organization. Each quilt costs over $250.00 in materials to make and we donate our time and talents.
In order to continue making and presenting quilts to deserving veterans, we need community support. That support can be a monetary donation, fabric donations (only 100% cotton fabric with a patriotic theme) or helping us on our sew days.
Your donation goes directly to making and awarding quilts. No one in the organization is paid anything, we are all volunteers! Please help us continue our mission of “Honoring Veterans one quilt at a time” by donating to our group.
You can also mail us a check made out to Welcome Home.
